Women BD Desk: Ismat Ara Sadique, Awami League lawmaker and former state minister for public administration, breathed her last in Dhaka on Tuesday.
She was 78.
Ismat Ara was born at village Bhogoti of Keshabpur upazila in Jashore on December 12, 1942.
President Abdul Hamid and prime minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of the MP elected from Jashore-6 constituency.
The president and PM in separate condolence messages prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader also expressed condolence over the death of Ismat Ara.
