Women BD Desk: Local criminals have violated a madrasa student after abducting her from her residence in the district’s Alamdanga upazila for reportedly not withdrawing a rape-attempt case.
Family members stated that the criminals gang-raped the sixth-grader as her mother did not withdraw the case filed against the ‘rapists’ despite repeated threats.
Officer-in-charge of Alamdanga Police Station Asaduzzaman Munshi said: “The victim’s mother filed a case against three persons after they tried to violate the girl one month ago. Since then, the accused were pressurising the victim’s family to withdraw the case.”
The accused are–Laltu, 35, son of Joynal of Notidanga village, Shariful Islam, 40, son of Sobha Ghorami, and Raju, 30, son of Milon of the village.
Police arrested the trio on Sunday immediately after the victim’s mother filed a fresh case against them and sent the girl to Sadar Hospital for a medical test.
According to the case statement, Laltu, Raju and Shariful broke into the victim’s house around 12:30 am on Sunday and tied up her parents. Later, they took the girl to a bamboo bush on the bank of the Mathabhanga River and violated her one after another.
With the help of locals, the parents of the girl rescued her in the morning, the statement added.
