DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday expressed their deep shock at the sad demise of renowned singer and composer Subir Nandi.
In separate condolence messages, they both prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Ekushey Padak winning singer and conveyed their deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
His demise has also created an irreparable vacuum in the music industry of the country, President Hamid said.
“The five-time national film awards recipient singer will live on the people’s heart for long for his contributions towards the cultural arena of the country,” said PM Hasina, in her condolence message.
Renowned singer and composer Subir Nandi passed away at a Singapore hospital early on Tuesday (May 7). He was 65.
