Womenbd Desk: Police have collected the CCTV footage of Kurmitola Golf Club gate following the incident of rape of Dhaka University student, says Deputy Commissioner of Police (Gulshan Division) Sudeep Kumar Chakraborty.
He said: “The footage is being scrutinised and the law enforcers will soon find out the rapist.”
He made the comments while talking to UNB over the investigation into the rape of a Dhaka University student at Kurmitola on Sunday.
Besides, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Patwari said the police are investigating the rape incident with due importance and they are putting in their best efforts.
Terming the rape incident a terrible one, he said police are investigating the incident giving utmost priority. “We’re trying to identify the rapist and bring him under law. I hope, we’ll be able to identify the offender as we did during the previous incidents,” he said.
Talking about the ultimatum of Dhaka University students, the IGP said, “It’s impossible to complete the investigation with a time limit.”
According to the sources, the victim had been picked up by an unidentified man after she got down from the university bus around 7 pm and was made unconscious.
Later, the miscreant took her to a nearby place and raped her.
The victim regained consciousness around 10 pm and contacted her classmates. She was admitted to DMCH around midnight.
