Women BD Desk: Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is currently being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in their investigation into the Sushant Singh Rajput case, is reportedly “not co-operating” with the officers.
The actress, who is one of the 6 accused by Rajput’s father KK Singh in his FIR to the Patna Police, was called in early Friday afternoon to record her statement in the money laundering case currently being probed by the ED.
Besides Rhea, her brother Showik, father Indrajit, and former manager Shruti Modi were also called in today for questioning. While her brother was seen leaving the premises after 2-hours of questioning, he was seen arriving again at the office for a second time this evening.
In a statement to Times Now, SSR’s family’s lawyer Vikas Singh, alleged that the actress “can be arrested” if she evades answering questions put forth by the officers. “Now that she has decided to finally come forward in the interrogation, if she answers questions properly then probably she may be allowed to go. If she evades answers today, then she can also be arrested,” Singh said.
Rhea had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking for the case lodged by the Bihar police against her to be transferred to the Mumbai police.
Citing that the SC hearing is now scheduled for next week, the actress and her legal team requested the ED to postpone the recording of her statement, which was denied.
Rajput’s father KK Singh had on July 25 filed a complaint with the Patna police against Rhea Chakraborty and a few others, including her family members, accusing them of cheating and abetting his son’s suicide.
Singh had also alleged financial irregularities in bank accounts of his late son, who was found hanging in his suburban Bandra residence on June 14. He alleged that Rs 15 crore was siphoned off from Rajput’s bank account in one year to accounts of persons not known or connected to the late film star.
Besides Rhea and her family, SSR’s house manager Samuel Miranda, Sushant’s CA and Rhea’s CA were all questioned by the ED early this week.
