Keanu Reeves imaginary boyfriend to us all, made headlines for stepping out in public with Alexandra Grant at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles on Monday.
Bizarrely enough, many mistook Grant—an artist and illustrator, who many are praising for letting her hair go gray and taking the daring step of not being 23—for none other than Dame Helen Mirren. (There’s some resemblance, I suppose, and it’s never an insult to be mistaken for Mirren, but they’re two very different women.)
Mirren, who’s currently starring in HBO’s Catherine the Great as the titular Russian ruler, spoke out about the confusion between herself and Grant on Wednesday, telling Entertainment Tonight, “That was very flattering on me, you know, because she’s obviously lovely.” Mirren also praised Reeves, who worked on The Devil’s Advocate with Mirren’s husband, director Taylor Hackford: “He is just the most adorable, lovely person. So she’s a lucky girl and I’m sure that he’s a lucky boy.”
While Mirren and Reeves would undoubtedly make a handsome celebrity couple, Mirren’s heart already belongs to another celebrity. Well, there’s her marriage to Hackford, of course, but there’s someone else too: Aquaman star Jason Momoa, whom Mirren admitted to secretly photographing on a flight to Los Angeles in 2018.
“I was with my husband, but my heart just went, ‘Oh, my God, that is just the most beautiful man I have ever seen in my life,’” Mirren confessed during an appearance on CBS’s The Talk last month. In other words, Keanu has his work cut out for him.
